You can hear the Golden Gate Park Band play for free every Sunday. A wide variety of music is performed at these events at the Spreckels Temple of Music. The city’s beloved parks are a great place to spend a Sunday afternoon; you can relax in one, knowing that the next concert is just a week away.
- SOMA Pilipinas Filipino Cultural Heritage District Events
The SOMA Pilipinas neighborhood in San Francisco is a hub for Filipino heritage and history. A decade before the first wave of Filipino immigration to the United States in 1908, San Francisco was already home to many Filipinos, mostly in what is now SOMA—south of Market Street. This is a great chance to learn about and honor the Filipino community’s gifts to the culture of the city.
- Live at Union Square (8/17)
Union Square Live is a free event located in the heart of downtown San Francisco. This series of performances will include acts of dance, live music, and theater, among other types of performance art. You can experience the vitality of the arts in one of the busiest public spaces in the city.
- Games for the San Francisco Giants
At Oracle Park, baseball fans can watch the San Francisco Giants and, on occasion, the Golden State Warriors. The venue puts much of its excitement and pregame pageantry right in front of its fans: There are beautiful views of the bay, the ballpark is gorgeous, and per the home’s game schedule, some of America’s best sport can be seen therein.
